CarUi Two Launcher overview

Car UI Two a tablet-only home screen launcher built for in-car use. Large app buttons open any installed app. A built-in music player lists your library, builds playlists, and shows an album carousel. Videos play in a full-screen player. A drawing canvas handles quick notes. The background reacts to the music with a soft aurora animation and an equalizer. Permissions used by this app Music and audio files (READ_MEDIA_AUDIO, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on older Android versions) Used to read the music library on your device so you can browse albums, create playlists, and play songs. No audio files are uploaded, copied, or shared. The app only reads files you can already access on the device. Videos (READ_MEDIA_VIDEO) Used to list videos stored on your device so you can open and play them in the built-in video player. No video files are uploaded or shared. Images (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES) Used only when you tap “Set cover from gallery” on a playlist. The image you pick is copied into the app’s private storage and used as the playlist’s cover. No images are read at any other time, and nothing is uploaded. Audio playback capture (RECORD_AUDIO) Android requires this permission to read the audio output of the music player so the on-screen equalizer bars can react to the music. No microphone input is recorded. Nothing is stored or transmitted. The permission is used only to attach a visualizer to the audio session of the app’s own music player. Audio settings (MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS) Used to change the system media volume and apply the equalizer preset you select while music is playing. Foreground service and notifications (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK, POST_NOTIFICATIONS) Used so music keeps playing when you switch to another app, and to show a notification with playback controls. The notification lets you pause, skip, or stop playback without reopening the launcher. Installed apps (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES) Used to list every app installed on your device so you can assign it to one of the home screen buttons. This is the same behaviour as the system launcher. No information about your installed apps is sent anywhere. The list is used only on-screen to draw your home screen. What the app does not do No account is required and no personal information is collected. No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDKs. No files are uploaded to any server. No microphone input is accessed. No location data is accessed. No contacts, calendar, SMS, or call logs are accessed. Data storage Everything you create in the app — home screen app assignments, playlists, playlist covers, and notes — is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app removes all of it.
