Kaalshodh: Hindu Time Watch overview

Kaalshodh is an analog watch face for the Hindu day. The sun is the hour hand and the crescent moon is the minute hand, and around them the dial reads the panchang: today's tithi, the running choghadiya, and the time in ghati and pal, counted from sunrise. ON THE DIAL • The tithi, with the month and paksha above it. • The choghadiya now running, with a mark that shows whether it is auspicious. • Hindu time in ghati and pal, beside the ghatika bowl. • A rim that fills through the Hindu day: gold from sunrise to sunset, blue through the night. • The eight prahars named around the dial, shifting with the season as the days lengthen and shorten. • The date.
